Judgment creditors can garnish your wages in order to collect the judgment. Creditors of a few types of debts (back taxes, child support, and student loans) can garnish your paycheck without a judgment. In most case the maximum is 25% of your disposable income. Garnishments to pay child support depend on whether you are currently supporting another spouse and/or child, other than the child who is the subject of the child support order. If so, up to 50% of your disposable income (what's left after mandatory deductions) can be garnished and sent to the child's other parent. If you aren't currently supporting anyone, up to 60% of your disposable income can be garnished for child support. Child Support is non-dischargeable in bankruptcy.
